Giving it Up

Firstly, apologies for my blogroll disappearing but a groovy, new website is being built for me as we speak to reflect the design of my groovy, new book jackets and during the upgrade the blogroll went. It shall be back next week, along with an uber cool website, so keep checking back!

Today, I went to see my sadistic trainer who punished me for an hour in his usual way while updating me on his love life. Like so many personal trainers I have met, he isn’t short of female company and seems to enjoy the drama that comes from juggling a few girls at a time whilst pretending he is monogomous. I’ve long since given up that game. It seems like too much wasted energy.

‘Why can’t you just come clean with these chicks?’ I asked him. ‘Tell them you’re playing the field instead of lying to all of them?’

He stares at me dumbly as if I’d suddenly started speaking in Classical Latin. Then I remember that he’s in his early 30’s and is still struggling with wanting to ’settle down’ and wanting to be Casanova. Being with him actually makes me feel happy I don’t have to deal with any of that anymore.

After the work-out I joined a handsome American guy for a cup of coffee. I haven’t been on a date, even a quick coffee date since the summer. We hit it off immediately, but our schedules both being what they are, I probably won’t see him again until 2008. Modern life is so nuts, isn’t it? I mean, we live less than 5 miles apart. Yet factor in jobs, kids, Xmas committments and before you know it, a month or more has passed. We stole a quick kiss in the car and he was a good kisser so that’s a promising start. I can tell a lot from the way a man kisses.

Soft and a little tongue usually means they’ll be good at oral and not treat my clitoris like a pencil eraser. It’s the guys that stick their tongue down my throat that are the ones I avoid. They go at my pussy like they’re on a seek and destroy mission. My coffee date was definately the former and not the latter. The first signs are good. What’s more he made me laugh. That’s two laughs in a week. I must be putting out the ‘make me laugh’ vibe. Whatever I’m doing, it seems to be working.

When we parted I decided to do something completely atypical of my personality. I decided not to take his number. I decided, for once, to leave contact completely in his hands thus rendering me incapable of speaking to him unless he wants to speak to me. This may turn out to be a foolhardy decision as I’ve never been particularly good at giving up control but bizarrely, I enjoyed letting him feel empowered. As that old cliche goes, ‘What will be, will be.’
